Regarding OS's:

I drink Coke, but a lot of people drink Pepsi. A few people drink RC, and most people think it actually would taste better if they thought about it, which they don't. Some people buy IBC for a little extra money sometimes, but when they go to restaurants, they end up drinking Coke or Pepsi just like everyone else. Some people prefer 7up or Diet Coke or Root Beer, so CokeCo and PepsiCo make 7up-flavored Coke or RootBeer-flavored Coke available.

Many children drink cool-aid, because they are too naive to realize that colored sugar-water is boring, but most people who have been drinking liquids regularly for a few years prefer something with carbonation. Some people pay attention to whether there's caffeine or not, but most people don't even notice, because the carbonation and taste are the only features that immediately impact their usage.

Some obscure intellectuals drink tea, but there's not much money in that industry, so most of the general public never even considers it as an option.

They changed Coke to make it taste better, but everyone hated it, because it wasn't what they were used to.

Personally, I drink Coke mostly, because it's what I'm used to, but I do drink Tea when it's available, and I drink Pepsi when I have to, and it's not so bad, although it tastes funny, and I drink cool-aid when it's all there is, but I complain about it, even if someone made it with carbonated water thinking that will make the coke-drinkers happier.
