Hobbies

My favorite museum is still the Norton Simon Museum, which sorely miss now that I've left Pasadena. They have some wonderful Degas sketches and Rembrandt etchings. And an ancient chess set from India.

Ultimate Frisbee, an interesting game.

Daryun plays two simultaneous games at the Caltech Go Club. From left to right: Xiaodong Chen, Daryun Chiang, Michael Pustilnik and Kurt Fleischer. I started the Caltech Go Club in 1990. As of summer of 1995, the club was meeting Saturdays 2-5pm in the Winnett Lounge at Caltech. There were 4 sets of boards and stones belonging to the club that I hope are going to good use now... last I heard (in 1996), Alf Mikula was running the club.

Windsurfing

Here I am heading for a small island in Hawaii.

"When you enter the ocean, you become part of the food chain." (Dave Kirk told me this.)

Kurt's Brain Here's an MRI image of my brain in 1988, when I first came to Caltech. I wonder if it is different now. Oh, this isn't a hobby, I just figured it would be fun to put it on this page.
